Install an Invisible Window Grill, often known as stainless steel cables, to secure a window or balcony from burglars without obstructing your view of the outside.
The IVG system surrounds openings (like balconies) with stainless steel cables to stop people from falling through them. In Singapore’s high-rise HDBs, condos, and even offices, it is a typical fixture.
Invisible grilles are almost imperceptible from a distance, in contrast to regular grilles which may be obtrusive and overwhelming. They don’t interfere with views or airflow, and they don’t change how the inside is designed.
Non-removable invisible balcony grille
A list of the components of an invisible grille is shown below:
Cable
This is the most important part of an IVG because it prevents people and animals (like cats) from falling through the floor vents.
You should leave two to four inches of space between them, depending on the type of cable. For very young children, a range of height more than three to four inches is typically not necessary. In homes with animals like cats, carpets often rest at the industry-standard height of 2 inches.
A membrane shields the cable from the outside environment with a thin layer of translucent plastic. The membrane can be made of any of the modern plastics, though nylon and Teflon are the most often utilized materials.
Search for cables (Top & Bottom)
This is in charge of keeping the cables taut and is situated at the top and bottom of the installation site (e.g. Service Yard). The screws support the cable retaining it in place by strengthening it. It will be covered by a shield to conceal it from view and stop any mishaps from occurring.
Please be aware that more than one cable will not be required for the entire installation. A continuous cable can often only pass through a gripper of this type in three-quarters of the time.
Stiffeners these wires span your main IVG wires to equally distribute strain and prevent slack from forming when two cables are tugged in opposing directions. These two features contribute to the IVG system’s increased safety.
Unseen Grilles a Wide Range of Types
Panel or grille that is invisible and is permanently fixed This method of installation is most frequently used for invisible grilles. The most typical use of invisible grilles is as a long-lasting fixture, like a grille or panel. This installation technique can be utilized on stair railings, window railings, and staircase railings in addition to balcony railings.
This includes a permanent framework that will be utilized to hide grilles from view. They are affixed on top of the current window frame, so they will protrude from the surface (around 5cm).
A window with an open able Invisible Window Grille can be opened in either direction, just like a regular window, without any limitations. It is conceivable for this design to exist because of the way it is built.
Sliding Unnoticeable Grille
Instead than swinging left or right to open, this type of casement glides to either side. Multiple parts of the wall that extend outward are necessary for the sliding track (around 15cm).
The grille is created using a bi-folding technique, in which the casement is folded twice to achieve the desired result. The window can be opened more easily if this is folded to the slide.
You should leave two to four inches of space between them, depending on the type of cable. For very young children, a range of height more than three to four inches is typically not necessary. In homes with animals like cats, carpets often rest at the industry-standard height of 2 inches.
