How to Draw A Spider Web. Spiders are creatures that have a fairly divided reputation among humans. Many people have a deep fear of them to the point that it’s a phobia, while others find them cool and even keep them as pets.

Love them or hate them, you’ll inevitably share your home with one at some point, and there’s a surefire way to say a spider is your roommate: the spider web.
These beautifully intricate structures have also become a visual shortcut for spookiness in horror movies and Halloween decorations.
How to Draw A Spider Web
Step 1
A true wonder of nature, a spider web has an incredibly delicate and intricate design. This makes them a marvel to look at but can make them a challenge to draw.
To make this more comfortable, you can use a monarch to draw stripes and shapes that will allow you. Using the reference image as a guide, we’ll draw a star shape with four intersecting lines.
You can use a pen for this step, as these lines will end up in the final image.
Don’t worry if you don’t get the corners of your spider web design exactly as shown in the reference image!
Step 2
For the next few steps in this spider web drawing guide, you’ll want to switch to a light pencil to draw the lines, as they won’t appear in the final image.
We’ll let you know when to start using the pen again! For now, use the pencil to bring the tips of each line together.
This will give you an eight-sided octagon shape like in our reference image.
Step 3
We will continue to use a light-colored pencil for this part of your spider web drawing. Thinking of your octagonal shape as a pie, let’s draw three lines in each “slice.”
If you want to make it more consistent, try drawing lines on a disk and then measuring the distance of each line from the other.
Then use those measurements for each other section to make sure they all connect evenly.
This may take some time and patience, but it will be worth it as you will have a beautifully clean and even mesh!
Step 4
You can use the pen again for this step of our tutorial on how to draw a spider web.
Looking at a spider’s web, you’ll see that the connecting threads are rarely straight and have a little waste. We’re going to draw these lines now.
Using the lines you drew in each shape segment, use your pen to draw a slightly curved line across each line in the segment.
The curved line should start and end at the same point as the straight line but have a slight curve in the middle. You can even add similar curved lines to the outer lines of the shape!
Step 5
Now that you’ve drawn the pencil guides with the pen, you can start erasing the lines of your spider web drawing!
Before you start digging with the eraser, let the pen ink dry completely. If you start too early, you could easily smudge the ink.
Once you’ve erased all the pencil lines, you should end up with a complete spider web like the one in our reference image!
Now that your spider web is fully drawn, add some extra detail to make it your own. An obvious choice would be to draw a spider sitting in its web!
You can even draw a fun background if you’re feeling extra creative. It would be cool to have a haunted house wallpaper for your spider web, but that’s just one idea out of many!
Step 6
This brings us to the absolute step of our tutorial on how to draw a spider web! You already have an amazing picture, but you can make it even better with some colors.
We showed you one way to color it for our reference image, but you should let your imagination run wild for this one!
If you’ve drawn additional details or background additions, feel free to color them in, too!
I would use watercolor paints to give this spider web design a more subdued, sinister feel, but any art medium you choose will look great!
